Favouritism
Why favouritism?
Corporate world is changing with every passing second. Professionals are engaged intently to grab that coveted word called ‘success’. To day we really cannot define success as it has no limits or boundaries. To reach desired goals professionals are resorting to all possible alternatives, favouritism being one of them!
Where does it start?
If we blame an organization of practicing favouritism and start to figure out the root cause then we might end up surprisingly at the top of the ladder. Yes, it starts from the top and filters down the ranks. If it comes straight from the CEO’s desk is there any possible way out? Who’s going to tell him?
Unorganized approach
Companies make big plans to launch their business strategies to gain maximum profit/revenue however there is no deliberate effort to set the code of conduct of the business straight consequently leading to attrition of quality workforce which again leads to low productivity and loss in the long run.
Let’s Counter it:
For concrete buildings the base needs to be strong therefore the core management needs to act as the pillar and backbone of the organization for ethical practices.
Measures:
· Top management iron out the flaws
· Appoint a custodian for business ethical practices
· Focus and increase the significance of employee relations
· Promote accountability and responsibility
· Conduct more interactive sessions
· Practice absolute fair performance appraisals. Each score requires to be measured and justified.
· Identify performers who do not need a push and part with non-performers who thrive on recommendations.
· Adapt a very strict yet transparent policy to achieve desired organizational goals.
